I'm with you on this. It seems to me that most of the ppl making money from their websites are ppl telling us how to make money with websites.

They all spout the same stuff. "Good content", "use adsense", blah blah blah. So what happens? A few thousand more people take their advice and set up MORE sites regurgitating, "How to make money from your site". It's like MLM by stealth.

As for adsense, well I for one refuse to use it. I'm sick of seeing the stuff plastered all over almost every website on the net. It's annoying and makes sites look scruffy.

For that reason I've been looking into the various sites that pay you for putting text ads on your site, rather than all this pay per click rubbish.

The trouble with paid ads is that the companies doing that aren't interested in sites like mine with avaerage traffic. So who gets to put these paid ads on their sites? Yep, you guessed it. All those ppl regurgitating the "How to make money with your website" rubbish.

I've seen very few none "how to make money" sites claiming that they are making anything other than a pittence. The only others I can think of are the major sites like ebay, yahoo and the TV news station sites.
